Emanating from the alluvial soils of the Canterbury Plains in New Zealand with clean, unpolluted air and saturated with high UV light. Barley Grass (Hordeum vulgare), grown skilfully, has a brilliant rich green hue. The bright green colour of the powder indicates a high chlorophyll content and that it is intact ('greens' powders that have a grey or brownish hue indicate chlorophyll has been degraded and may not be efficacious).
The young cereal grass barley offers "nutrient density" and contains high levels of beneficial vitamins and minerals, plus dietary fibre to promote natural, healthy digestion and bowel health. Young barley is a nutrient powerhouse and contains antioxidants that may act as free radical scavengers to reduce inflammation.
It is a power-packed plant with 18 amino acids, including all 8 of the essential amino acids.

The nutrient levels in green cereal plants change as they grow.
Great skill is needed to judge the plant's growth stage, manage its requirements organically and harvest at the optimum time to capture the full benefit of the organic barley grass when barley is closer to vegetables than grain in composition.
Otherwise, the chlorophyll level, the protein and vitamin content declines and the cellulose (indigestible fibre) increase shortly after tillering.

As food is the main category of product that Food Plus offers we are unable to supply goods for export. All transactions are expressed in New Zealand dollars only.
Shipping Rates
We offer a flat rate shipping cost to New Zealand Addresses:

Before the final checkout page you will be shown what the cost of shipping will be, and you will have an opportunity to cancel your order if you decide not to proceed. No other charges apply to your order.
Turnaround
All orders are shipped using a courier service and within 48 hours Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm. Under exceptional circumstances beyond our control this policy may be extended to more than 48 hours.
Order Tracking
If a tracking number is provided by the shipping carrier, we will update your order with the tracking information.
Back Orders
If an item goes on back order we will ship you the part of your order that is in stock. When the item becomes available we will ship you the rest of your order. You will not be charged any additional shipping and handling for the second shipment.

How to return a Food Plus item
Your Food Plus item must be in its original unused condition to be returned unless there is a product defect. You must return the item within 30 days of your purchase.
- Please email info@foodplus.co.nz with the details and to request a refund and we will assign you a tracking number.
- Mail your returned item to:

- Include in your package a signed letter stating the reason for your return and the original email receipt.
Restocking Fee
All items are subject to a 20% restocking fee, this will be deducted from your refund. We also do not refund the original shipping and handling that you paid on the order.
Exchanges
If your Food Plus item is unopened and in like-new condition, you may exchange your item for an alternative item. You will not be subject to a restocking fee in this case, but you still will have to pay for return shipping.
Defective Product
It is our policy that should any purchase from Food Plus prove to be defective we will replace or refund the purchase price at no cost to the customer. In such circumstances please e-mail us in the first instance at
explaining your concern and we will contact you to arrange a refund or replacement.
